I told myself I would try to write at least once a month.
Here are my thoughts and life in February of 2021: This past Thursday I received my second dose of the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine which means in less that one week I'll be as immune as modern science can get me.
Yesterday I drove down to Cincinnati to see Alan, Brian, and Daniel. It was my first outing since the second dose.
Yesterday's weather was amazing 60s in February had us feeling like it was summer. We sat in Daniel's backyard I was finally able to meet both Oliver and Sula for the first time.
Between Roma, Alexis, Hendye, Daniel, Alan, and my brother there have been a lot of babies in the past two years. Tem and I are still holding to our plan to start trying when she turns 30 this December.
I'm ready, well as ready as someone can be for the unpredictable changes that come with parenting.
I'm so relieved to be vaccinated. At this point 13.86% of Ohioans (ages 16+) have at least got their first dose.
Yesterday felt so good even though we were distanced and even though we brought masks the relief in the back of my head that I can't get it and that (potentially) I can't even spread it had me enjoying the beautiful weather even more.
I've already bought my plane ticket to California for June. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and I plan on taking Tem out next weekend and walk to the art museum. It's been a very long quick year quarantined.
My students are back in the class hybrid which has it's frustrating challenges. It's forced me to switch up my teaching style and it isn't ideal but I suppose it's better for them than 100% virtual.
Emmy, Daniel's 3 year old, was yelling questions at me from a safe distance about school. Having her ask me if I teach on zoom or not was a cute and horrifying reality.
I'm not sure how I would have been able to make it though the year without being able to stay in contact with friends through twitter and conversations on Xbox live.
I'm excited to pick up the piece of life where I left them the winter of 2020.
